Review before ordering

Before checkout, Motif Studio checks the project for content that may not print as intended and lists what it finds in a Quality Check Results window. Treat this as a final design review, not just an error message.

The review is available in book, calendar, and card editors, and it returns on every checkout attempt while listed issues remain.

Issues you may see

Depending on the project, the review can identify:

  • text that has low contrast or does not fit its box;
  • a photo placed below the recommended print resolution (it may print blurry);
  • an empty text box or caption;
  • an unfilled photo position; or
  • a completely blank page.

Each row shows a short descriptor for one issue, a help icon (hover over it for a longer explanation), and a link to the affected page or surface. Select the page link to close the review and go directly to that page in the editor.

Choose how to respond

  • I’ll Fix These (the default) returns you to the editor so you can fix the listed items yourself.
  • Ignore and Order continues without changing the listed items: in a web browser it adds the project to your cart, and in the Motif apps it opens checkout for that project. Review that choice carefully because the warning describes what is currently in the project.

The check runs again on every checkout attempt: items you have already fixed drop off the list, and the window stops appearing once the list is empty.

Track your progress in the assistant panel

When the review finds issues, the same list also appears as a Quality Check Results checklist in the assistant panel. Each item shows a red dot while it is unresolved. As you fix items in the editor, the checklist updates on its own: a resolved item's dot turns green and its text is crossed out. Select a page link in the checklist at any time to jump to that page.

The checklist is informational: fixing happens in the editor, and the next checkout attempt re-checks the whole project.

Review the printed design

Also inspect details that an automatic check cannot judge for you:

  • names, dates, addresses, and spelling;
  • photo crops, especially near faces and page edges;
  • the order of pages, months, and card faces;
  • intentional blank space versus an accidentally blank page; and
  • whether every photo and caption tells the story you want.
